The 2nd cross-border event organized by the partners of the Recy-Composite project on February 22, 2018, was a great success. CTP received about fifty participants from France, Wallonia and Flanders at its facility in Tournai (Belgium).
This event was relayé in various local and national media (written press and television) further to the press conference organized by partners with the help of Innovatech.
After a reminder of the context, of the Interreg program France-Wallonie-Vlaanderen and of the cross-border project, the Recy-composite team presented his first research results. CTP, Crepim, IMT Lille-douai / Armines, Certech and VKC-Centexbel showed the recycling of thermoplastic and thermosets composites through practical examples: End-of-life pleasure boats, used road signs, sanitary components, automobile parts… Finally, François Viérin (Vivatex) testified the support received from the Recy-Composite project in the framework of composites made with long thermoplastic fibers and their recycling.
Then, participants appreciated the demonstrations of milling-screening and Eddy current sorting technologies related to the composite recycling before exchanging point of views during the networking cocktail that closed the event.
