On 12th December 2016, competitiveness cluster TEAM2 hosted in its facilities (Loos-en-Gohelle, Hauts de France) the lauching event of Interreg V France-Wallonia-Vlaanderen project « RECY-COMPOSITE – Recycling of composite materials: cross-border approach towards a circular economy ».
The project team, comprised of Certech (coordination, Wallonia), CTP (Wallonia), VKC Centexbel (Flanders), CREPIM (France), Mines Douai and Armines (France), presented the background, the organization, the issues and the main Research and Development activities of this challenging cross-border cooperation program supported by the European Union (FEDER) and Wallonia.
A round table, led by Marie CARPENTIER (Mines Douai) and bringing together several industrial managers – Ivan ROCHE (PSA), Jonathan BRUNETTE (POLYNT Composites), Hervé DEMOULIN (Comet Traitements), Geoffroy GOULLEY (Stratiforme-Compreforme Group), Vanessa PASQUET (CD2E AVNIR) – enabled to take stock of the issues, the opportunities as well as the current challenges dealing with recycling and circular economy for the stakeholders in the composites industry.
The discussion also dealt with the potential benefits of the project upon economy, employment and competitiveness in the cross-border territories. Many interactions with the audience (more than 50 members) enabled to enrich the discussion.
